Our Story
Arunachala Cacao is a small cacao workshop in Tiruvannamalai, at the foot of the sacred Arunachala mountain.

Where we work
Arunachala Cacao began as a small experiment: to produce pure cacao in a simple workshop surrounded by nature.A place with a past
Our workshop is located in a quiet compound that once served as a village orphanage. Today it is also home to rescued animals and a small team from nearby villages who help produce our cacao.
At the foot of Arunachala
Tiruvannamalai is known for the sacred mountain Arunachala, a place that has drawn pilgrims, seekers and travelers for centuries. Our work happens in the calm rhythm of this landscape.
Where the cacao begins
Every batch starts far from the workshop — in the humid hills where cacao grows under tall trees and monsoon rains.Cacao from Kerala
Our beans come from small farms in the tropical hills of Kerala. Cacao grows there alongside coconut, pepper and fruit trees in diverse farms.
Working with growers
Whenever possible we visit the farms and work directly with the farmers who ferment and dry the beans.
How we craft cacao
Our approach is simple: work slowly and change the beans as little as possible.Sun-dried beans
The beans and nibs are naturally dried in our workshop under the sun.
Stone grinding
We grind the cacao slowly using stone grinders, producing a smooth cacao mass that keeps the natural cocoa butter of the bean.
Minimal processing
We avoid roasting and alkalization so the cacao keeps its natural aroma and character.
Why we keep it simple
Cacao is already a remarkable ingredient. Our goal is simply to prepare it carefully and let the bean speak for itself.Simple ingredients
